Chamber Winds
The Chamber Wind Group is made up of senior musicians from the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and alumnus. There are, at present, about 25 members of the group. The group started in February, 2006, and they play a varied repertoire including baroque, kwaito as well as modern movie music.
These groups have been popular for corporate functions and social events such as weddings. A portion of the fee is paid to players to promote entrepreneurship amongst the older players, while a percentage is held for the purchase of music for the groups.
Any woodwind or brass player who has achieved Grade 7 is welcome to audition to join the group.
