Beginner Winds
There are two Beginner Wind groups, each comprising a group of children between the ages of 8 and 13 years. The Parktown group is conducted by Floyd Machate, and the Soweto group by Brian More.
This group is an entry level ensemble where children learn techniques associated with playing in a group. It is a feeder group for the Johannesburg Symphonic Wind Band.
Any wind or brass player who has achieved Grade 3 is welcome to apply for membership
